Social media is used to connect but concurrently serves as a disconnect from society outside of the virtual world. In Listen and Repeat, a modified megaphone uses text to speech capabilities to recite tweets composed with the tag nobody listens from the social media website Twitter. The megaphone has been installed on a mountain in Washington and dictates tweets to an audience of trees. Part of a series of work by Rachel Knoll called “Interconnected Strategies to Disconnect”.

Belgian artist Wim Delvoye, created a series of Gothic works, Chapel. Some very unusual stained-glass windows and sculptural works made of steel, lead, glass and actual x-rays.
Delvoye took x-rays of two friends performing sexual acts, then combined the x-rays with stained glass to fill the windows of a gothic-style chapel. Some of the windows simply look as though they are made of an abstract design, when upon closer inspection, one can see teeth, intestines, skulls and other anatomical features.

Mary Boone Gallery, in cooperation with Galerie Perrotin, recently opened Pass The Blame, an exhibition of monumental sculptures and new paintings by Brooklyn-based artist KAWS.
The Mary Boone Gallery exhibition, at 541 West 24th St., will remain on view through Dec. 21.
I’m a Kaws follower. Let's see if I can get one of these figures for my window display living room.
