This is not the best way to start the year, I just don’t know what is! Milwaukee based artist Molly Evans, aka #LionelStitchie, made me feel like I was dancing on the ceiling when I saw this bright yellow stitching on forgotten furniture. Here’s how it all started:

“During the Summer of 2013 I set out on a mission to entertain my (somewhat grumpy) neighbor with an outdoor embroidery project on their discarded sofa that would make the seemingly unlovable couch more lovable.”

The works of José Romussi are a form of artistic intervention that combine a particular craft with a repurposed image. With a strong background in embroidery, Romussi creates works with thread that bear a distinct duality between old and new, production and hand-made.
The process involves a base layer – a found/photographed 2 dimensional image – overlaid with geometric forms, letters or animals that appear out of the lines of colorful thread.

Brilliant in so many levels! In Dreams is an experimental documentary created by Samuel Blain that visualises the dreams of ordinary individuals. Blain asked 4 people to discuss their most vivid, memorable dream.
