The myth of the failure. Will the spanish people have solution?
The Cervantes character Don Quijote de la Mancha, carrying his red and yellow shield, represents the Spanish people. He must be armed with courage and optimism to fight back and solve the economic and critical storm of the country in these times of crisis. His horse, Rocinante, is wearing the flag of the European Union, which Spain is both a part of, as well as finding itself carried along its course. There is a recognizable silhouette far away symbolizing Don Quixote's windmills - today's giant menace that needs to be fought.
The illustration tries to adapt Quixote's universal and emblematic Spanish work to the current reality that exists in the country with its financial crisis.
Will the Spanish people know how to topple these giants? Will Spain's courage and optimism be enough to achieve its objectives: to get out of the crisis?
